Default Cub Cadet 100 pan seat options

Hello All. I am putting back together a 100 which came with a "modern" seat which I would like to replace with a pan style seat. I have been looking around for a factory replacement but haven't found one yet. I see places like Tractor Supply sell a generic pan seat and wonder if anyone has tried any of them. Other than the original cub seat, does anyone have a recommendation on a good replacement pan seat? Really enjoy the site and thanks for any input you might have.

Certainly I do! First, , it is great to have new ideas here and interests all of the time.

Second, there is a rectangular pan seat that is old school and far more comfortable in my opinion than the original pan seat on the cub. I am unsure of the manufacturer, but it came on one of my originals as a PO mod, as seen in the picture. It fits right up and just feels right.....so it gets two cheeks up...or uh, down. Perhaps someone else can identify it and maybe you can find one for sale at a very reasonable price.

Hope this helps you out and again, great to have other enthusiasts on the site!

Hey Pswan, What did you end up deciding on for the pan seat? I'm thinking about doing the same.

Twoton, I haven't done anything yet. I suspect I will get the seat olds45512 recommends from tractor supply. The tractor supply down the street doesn't stock this seat, I think I remember agri supply sold what appears to be the same seat a little cheaper. This is my first cub cadet, it was a real mess when I got it so things are going slow money wise. Boy, some of these parts are quite expensive so I'm trying to salvage as much as I can but the seat was a total trainwreck. Twoton, let me know what you end up with and what you think about it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
