I've got this old deck for my 100. its in terrible condition but the shell will clean up just fine. I thinks its about a 63-65 model 42" possibly
Not sure if I even want to restore it until I can price out the parts. How can I identify this thing to even start looking? And who sells the parts? Thank you Dave here is a pic that looks like mine |

Welcome to the club.
Since you've already got your deck off, if you flip it over and measure from the outer blade tip of one side of the deck to the outer blade tip on the other side of the deck, that was how Cub Cadet determined deck width at the time. You may have to finagle the blades around to get that measurement or just eyeball it if you're close. Having said that, your deck looks very similar to the one on my 1966 - 122. You can find the operator's manuals in "Technical Library - Implements" section. There are two manuals for those decks, an early and a late. Not sure what the difference is, but here's a link to get you started. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=4682 As far as parts go, I typically look up parts diagrams on partstree.com, and then buy my parts at either a local dealership or NAPA because they're both close to me. There's a lot of knowledgeable sponsors on this site too that sell all sorts of things that would love your business. Happy wrenching!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
