Fixing fuel line leak

hi guys i have a leak starting at the rubber sleeve at the carberator end where it attaches to the 90 degree would it be better to change over to rubber fuel lines or replace the rubber sleeve if it is better to change over to rubber line what thread is the elbow into the carberator

I found small fuel line and cut my own ferrules from that for the stock steel fuel line compression fittings.

I did the same for my daughters original. All you do is slice off a small piece of the proper diameter fuel line with a razor blade and you will have a fuel sleeve. It worked for me. If you want to get rid of the hard line I believe the fittings are 1/8" pipe threads. Size may depend on what model tractor your working on.

I do the same thing, I use 1/4 fuel line and cut it in 1/8" sections. Its a pretty tight fit, I put the fuel line nut on the steel line and then slide the piece of 1/4" line down into the nut. Usually I have to use a small screwdriver to get it to fully seat in the nut and make sure its square.

I also just use fuel line and cut my own, you can make a lot with a foot of line which is usually the minimum the parts store will sell.

I have the same problem and my local shop guy sold me fittings that I am not happy with. I need to get him on this site!
