Default Johnson 24 Loader Followed Me Home.......

I've been wanting a loader for a while. Recently I was contacted by a forum member ccpullin who offered me a trade proposition. He offered a Johnson 24 loader in trade for my stuff. I ended up buying some more items from his inventory.
A friend and I drove to Des Moines, Iowa Friday and made the trade.
I got the loader and Dave received the Haban blades I had.
I'm very happy with the loader, it shows very little wear and is in great shape.
881 miles later, the loader is now in my shop. I'm going to have to do quite a bit of modification to mount it on a Super.
The pictures show the main frame. The bucket is still on my trailer.
The best part of the trip was being able to meet another forum member. Dave is a great guy!
Thanks Dave for your hospitality.

I bought a 1864, it's just grown from there. The Cubs have replaced old Chevys as my hobby/passion. The only car I have left is a '67 Chevelle wagon.
Seems like a good trade off. I can put five Cubs where one car sat and there are no titles or license to fool with!

All boils down to how bad you want something.

That's about my round trip mileage when I snagged my 1512.

Yep, nice loader! You passed about 20 miles south of my place while jetting down I 80 in Iowa. Good thing you went Friday and not today. I 80 was terrible with snow/ice. Congrats again on the loader. Will look great on a Super.

Hey you weren't kiddin', Tim!
That's a clean loader!
I don't see any excessive weathering, or pitting.

That one appears to be a prime candidate for powdercoating.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
