I use Windshield fluid and tubes in all my tires.

I just put 6 gallons into each 23X10.50X12 tire on my 1650 for snow plowing.

I used a Little Giant submersible pump inside a 5 gallon pail using 1/3" clear tubing from the pump through a T to the valve stem. Just pressing the tubing onto the valve stem. On the T fitting I had a valve to release the air pressure. I did this while the tire was on the Cub Cadet. Hardest part was lifting and pouring each gallon into the 5 gallon pail - meaning this was VERY easy.

This thread got me thinking today. I just bought a couple 26X12X12 Tru Powers for the Super last night. $110 apiece on Amazon shipped, one was free thanks to gift cards.

So today I decided to price Rim Guard. I called Rim Guard to find local dealers. I have 2 within 30 minutes, first he gave me was a Kubota dealer about 25 minutes away, and the second was my local Cub/ Kubota dealer 10 minutes down the road. I called them first and they told me $50 or $60 per tire if they did it. I asked about just buying by the gallon and they said $3/gallon.

The second dealer either misunderstood the size or have lost their minds, $300 to do both and $7 or $8 dollars a gallon and didn't really act like they wanted to just sell it to me.

The rep at Rim Guard also suggested that I use metal valve stems as the adhesive in the rubber ones can deteriorate over time. I had never heard this before but figure they have nothing to gain by telling me this. I would think they would want you using the worst one so they can sell more.

When I did my tires last year it was $3.50 a gallon installed. Yes they do recomend you should use a metal valve stem. I used a short stubby metal valve stem.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
