Shorty123....I can understand the story about dad's 123 because my dad also had a 123, when he passed on, I got it!!! I like my 123 the most of all of my cubs. You have a great looking 123 and I'm glad it has special meaning to you. I put a hydraulic lift on mine, but I like the electric lift on yours....seems a lot simpler!! Have fun on your new "Yard Harley"!!!

Cub Cadet 123

PS> Look up the marketing strategy (pictures) that IH did with the 123 to assure people the hydrostat was dependable......very interesting!!!

Will do guys. And I'll attach the bore brush to my dremel tool as well.

Thanks Cub Cadet 123! I will do on the marketing. "Yard Harley" LOL, I've nevr heard a Cub called that, but I like it!

I've gotten the set screws soaking, tonight will mark the third night. Yesterday I pulled the rear panel and installed the Lift lever, shaft and lift bar after repainting them.
I found a decent deal on the parts on Ebay. Not great but decent. Now I need to find either a used lift bar attachment plate assembly (The part that connects the lift handle to the lift bar with a couple 5/16 bolts)
or someone who has a 123 with the part they could measure up and put the dimensions on here. And yes, I'm still having a blast with it all.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
