I don't think the ql tractors are quite enough to justify having to deal with the stupid side panels, I just hate having stuff in my way when I need to make repairs.

I asked this before.. and someone went out and measured w db meter WOW.
I think idle was ~80 db and WOT was 99 db. Not quiet... I think a layer of dynomat extreme would make a noticeable difference. My muffler is sound, but maybe they wear out and loose effectiveness. Michael |

I have several tractors, about half are quiet line tractors. I can't tell the difference, to be honest. Except maybe the 1000, If all the tins are tight, it is a tad quieter than any of the others.

All my quiet lines are silent right now. Only because they are not running at the moment. My opinion. If its quiet, its not running (right).....hahhahahha

I would have to agree, I have only ever owned one GT. I have an 1100, which has a briggs and stratton instead of the kholer motor. Still very loud.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
