Winter Projects
I am looking to do a few projects on my 782 once I'm done with fall leaf/yard cleanup.
- The steering is sloppy, so I'd like to remove the column and fix that. Is that just a matter of getting a rebuild kit and upgrade kit? Or are those one in the same? - The starter won't engage in cold weather, so I'd like to fix that also. Can those be rebuilt, or should I replace with a new one? - I'm guessing that both of these would be more easily completed with the engine pulled. Can't be too much to doing that right? - Anything else I should do while the engine is out? I've never done any of these projects before, but I love to learn and try these types of things. And, I've done all of the other work on the tractor with the help of this forum and some others. You guys have been a great help. Thanks for any help you can offer with these projects!

To do the starter u will need to pull the engine. Not hard to do at all. Also the steering column would be easier to do at that time. Get a rebuild kit for the steering as well as doing the easy steer upgrade will take care of alot of the slop. U might want to replace all the steering joints as well
