I was just curious if anyone has any advice on replacing the seals on the hydro pump? It looks as though the seals are leaking at the input shaft, front and back, and I don't know the name of the other shaft that the trunion is on but it looks as though both sides of it are wet as well. I can get a whole new (used)rear for 40$, just wondering if it would be easier to fix than swap. Thanks

Sometimes one leak over time can make it look like it's coming from numerous spots. If it was me, before going through a lot of extra work, I would remove the fender pan, and pressure wash everything around the rear and pump, and make for sure where the leak is coming from. Then you can isolate the leak and fix accordingly.

Sorry it to so long to update, it's deer season, anyway thanks for suggestions, it appears it maybe the cork gasket leaking not the seals. Thanks again.

Replacing the cork gasket requires the removal of the Hydro unit from the rear of the tractor. Those that I have replaced required moving the engine forward, removal of the driveshaft and brake connections along with the hydro controls. Then you can get to the hydro bolts and remove it. I would suggest that you determine if any of the other seals are leaking/seeping and replace them while the unit is out. A leak at the hydro is many times hard to find because of the hydro fan blowing the leakage all over the place. Replacing the cork gasket is a cheap job but a bit labor intensive.
