Alrighty, I am gonna start cleaning and fixing up my 1250. I am broke, so I am gonna do what I can with nothing. Tractors story, I got her off of craigslist $250. She was inherited to the previous owner from a passed friend. Owner used it, to mow be for he passed on.. The new guy didn't want a Cub, when he had a Zero turn Deere.. So he put it up.. I got her.. Just to warn you, she was giving a bad, brushed on paint job before I got her also. Notice the yellow side covers. (currently taking a palm sander to the orig. paint job. ill get pics up soon) So far, I have replaced the motor mounts, cleaned the orange gas out (found a pc of what looks like hardened tree sap in there)some leafs, stones and bug guts. She had a mouse nest in the flywheel housing. Got that out!! Cleaned the points. Changed the valves. Newer battery. the pics are gonna be before I really did anything to her except the battery change. |

This is simply just a computer shot of my palm sander job, on my side cover. Look at what I found... This is where my painting contractor skills come out to play... I saved the stickers under the brushed on primer and paint... well, from a distance.. up close you can see the swirls. shhh, hahaha.. |

Cool story. Paint is easier to fix than a lot of crazy stupid PO mods. I'd rather have a 1250 than a JD (anything) zero turn.

You did well for $250! I seen worse one selling on CL for the same amount of money.
Take tons of picture + don't forget to bag and label every nuts and bolds. Most prefer doing the mechanical+electric repair first and take care of the "show and shine" lastly but since your budget is limited you do what ever you could as long you make progress and enjoy doing it.

yeah, basicly since I am waiting for money to continue my fixin, sanding and cleaning old paint off is all I can really do right now.. And deff don't have the money to take her to get sand blasted. So I blasted my radio, and went to town sanding. It was free, just time.. Hoot hoot!!

Some front grill shots.. Still need the bottom grill.. I am not sure if the first pic will show how bent it was.. but I bent that back into shape, and than sanded it..
