Default Pic/Advice request - 149/169 Hydrolics vs. 1450/1650...

I just purchased a 169 and it came with a manual lift. The PO included a sleeve hitch and the hydraulic components from a 1450. I'd like *this* tractor to be my restoration project. (I'd started out wanting to restore a QL 1650 I got for a great price - but then found this...) So, I would prefer to mount the hydraulics as they were on the 1X9 series, as I was told they were in a different place then the QL series.

Can anyone advise or post a pic/link to pic on how the hydraulics on the 1X9 series are fitted? Also, any input on how difficult it will be to get the correct components?

Thanks,

-Calvin

Do you already have the rear hitch and spring assist on the 169 ?? I am doing the same thing with a 109/1250, sorta, except I am just moving the rear lift components over to the 1250. I have pics of the 109 linkages in my album, which you can get to by clicking on any of the pics in my 109 1250 hydro project thread...

I'll take a look at the 1250 and see if I can get some shots of its setup. Should be the same as the QL your parts came off.

Here's a shot of the 1250.. those three bolt heads forward of the step are the important ones.. They attach the front cylinder bracket. My 109 already has these holes....

Here's the 109 rockshaft arm that the cylinder pins to , in the second hole from the top. The bottom two holes are where the pivot for the lift bar attaches, if you look close you will see the arm is still there, just unbolted, as it is going on the 1250.

Clicking on either will take you to that picture in the album, there are a lot more pics in that album, the lift ones are mostly on page 6 and 7. If your quietline hydraulics look like these parts, they should work on the 169..

From the looks of the pictures that 109 is not in good shape.

The quiteline hydraulic valve mounts to the steering column. And the 169 will mount to the lefts side of dash tower. The lines will be diferent also. Everything else will be the same if your 169 has a ported pump. I thaught all 149's and 169's came standard with hydraulic lift but I may be wrong. I have a 149 parts tractor that I am going to put the hydraulic lift and pump on my wifes 129.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
