Default Rebuilt K321 14hp First Run Video

Well my first attempt at rebuilding an old Kohler single-cylinder seems to be a success. New Kohler pistons, rings and rod and bored .30 over. Fired off almost immediately and is purring like a kitty.

Yep, sounds like a Kohler.

Nice video! Always a great feeling to fire 'em up the first time after major engine work or a rebuild. Congrats!

Thanks guys, and yes it's a great feeling when they come to life. Of course new parts and a new bore make a lot of difference, but it definitely runs smoother with the balance gears out.

I think I may just make it before winter.

Sounds excellent. I have one in my 149 if you would like to do another. Should be a snap for an old pro like you!

Is that the gas tank with all the pin holes you had to repair?

Nice job Saturn. I like your paint work too. You're getting there. Takes time but it pays off.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
