You mentioned your steering turning a tighter radius to the left than to the right. My cub is the same way. I just made an adjustment to the gearbox and that corrected a lot of the slop. I have not noticed anything loose on the steering, but I will be sure to check it out further.
Thanks.

I adjusted the linkage between the steering lever and the arm. On the 104, this is on the left side of the tractor, so shortening the linkage will improve the turning radius to the right.

The nut/bolt that connects the linkage to the arm was loose, causing all of the slop in mine.

I have the same issue, so if you adjust the right outer tie rod that will help balance the steering radius?

No, adjust the rod between the lever on the gear box and the arm on the spindle.

Personally , I like the steering to be tighter to the left. The left side of the tractor is used for getting close when mowing, a tighter turning radius makes getting and staying close easier.

Alright, I will give that a try. I understand where you are coming from for when you are mowing around trees you would want that left side closest to the tree, but when it comes to turning around at the end of the lawn it makes for a tough time.

More than one of mine is like this. Turns much sharper to the left. I wonder if that's the way they were for the improved trimming. I know it's probably not the case but my 127 and 1440 turn sharper to the left. Oh well, such little things just provide a longer ride when turning to the right.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
