Recently I got some used Ag tires and rims and wheel weights for the Original. Last night I decided to paint the weights but I believe I got the wrong color. Does anyone know the proper Cub Cadet spray paint color that should be for the Originals wheels? Here is a pic of the wrong color I painted the weights.

I used Valspar IH white on my O. I bought it from TSC before they stopped carrying Valspar. According to Valspar's web site you can get it from Lowes but I think you need to special order it.

I also like(d) the Valspar, but have not seen it since I wiped out TSC's clearance stock. I have used the Rustoleum Almond White on the "workers" I have done and am happy with the results. (separate Rustoleum discussion thread: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...691#post284691 )
As far as "correct", I will share what I saved from another froum, from a very knowledgable CC guy as it lays it out pretty easy to follow: The correct white color for 1961 through 1967 would have been 901 white. It's hard to find, and you almost have to get it mixed at NAPA or somewhere. The 901 white has an olive tint to it and is definitely visibly different when next to 902 white and 935 white. Most, people get 935 white for their restorations because it is still readily available, but it was not used on Cub Cadet or Farmall Cub tractors until 1970. It is the typical creamy white that everyone associates with IH products. 935 white is pretty darn close to 901 white, and you'd never know the difference unless you actually had 901 white next to the 935, in which case you would see that 901 is visibly more olive color than 935. 902 white was only used on 1967, 68, and 69 tractors and is almost "chalky white" looking and MUCH more white than either 901 or 935. Rarely does anyone ever find or use this color, and you would have to have it mixed special as it's not available from CaseIH. (thread noted above has the paint examples) Paint it with what makes you happy! Good luck,

Wheel weights can be painted either White or Yellow. Your preference.

Thanks for the replies. So it sounds like Cub Cadet paint is no longer made in the proper color for the Original? I did find recently, on accident, that Case makes the Federal Yellow which is the proper color for the yellow on the Original. Mabe the proper white is available from Case also? I will also see if I can find the Valspar IH white.

I was going to post a question about that. The set of rims that came with the tractor have the valve stem on the outside and the newer set I got with the AG's has the valve stem on the inside. I was wondering what the difference was. Thanks.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
