$42??!!! Where on earth did you buy that? A carb kit costs about $12 from CC, and that's the most expensive I've ever seen them.

I just paid $28 from NAPA and I only needed the needle.

That fixed my problem.

Oh, and as quickly as today's gas destroys gaskets in carbs, you are better off putting all the parts in the first time, rather than taking if off again when something starts leaking. BTDT.

Default Cub Cadet 126 Carb

I have a similar problem with my 126. When I got it it was leaking gas out of the air bleed but only when it was not running, so I had it rebuilt. got it back on the tractor and it did the same thing . Anyone know what to do?

Thanks

Check the float level and make sure the float isn't full of gas. Also, if you have a bunch of crap in the gas tank and no sediment bowl or filter, the needle won't seal in the seat.

It has a filter but last time I took it appart it didn't seem that there was anything in the float. I also took a sew driver and bent the float down to make it push the needle more, but once I got it to stop leaking it wouldn't let enough fuel into the bowl and would run a little while and then die.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
