Don't let it idle any lower than 1000 rpm. 1100 or 1200 would be better. These are splash lube engines, and the amount of oil the rod end throws everywhere is substantially less at low rpm.

rite Matt, I couldnt remember where it was supposed to be, something like 1100-1200 i thought ,and maybe 2500-3600 wot. I thought but cant remember? maybe thats what my 400 is supposed to be at !

WOT is 3600 rpm. All of this is in the engine manual.

I meant 3500-3600, not 2500-3600 ! i was pretty sure it was 3600 , either way thanks Matt !

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
