I think pulling the rear is easier than pulling the engine. It's a matter of personal option.

FWIW.
I knocked the pins out of the rear coupler to the pump. Slid the coupler and fan forward on the shaft and lifted the driveshaft straight up and out. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
