Default Recoil Starter

I have a itch to find a recoil starter for a 70,71 or 72. I know they are rare so I am putting out all the feelers. Does anyone know how many of these set-ups were actually made? Any leads would be greatly appreciated too :-)

No numbers on how many were made but the last model with the recoil option was the 72.

That is a pretty cool set up, but how does it charge with no s/g? Flywheel stator?

Default Been awhile

It has been awhile since I have posted anything but still looking. I was offered a mounting plate for the recoil of a 71. they didn't get the tractor with any parts except for that so I can get that piece thinking I will have to "make" the rest. its not going on a restored tractor so it doesn't have to look "original" just close and be functional. Any pics of the other components like the dog or bearings and such would be great somebody has to have a setup laying on a shelf that can take some pictures and share WINK WINK!!! Thanks

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
