Default 72 steering wheel shaft
Hey guys,
I can't get the acorn nut back on the steering wheel shaft of my 72, threads are ok, but shaft looks slightly crooked, how can I straighten it out or can I maybe file the top to slightly taper it to get the nut started?

Try a different nut with the same thread see if it will go on, you may get lucky.

I tried it and another nut, wouldn't go on, so I got a new nut to try.

You might need a die set Nikster. I can't verify but I think it's 1/2 x 20 maybe? And yes you can taper it but I would use the die if you can get one.

No I didn't, but I finally got the steering wheel off, so now can I buy just a new shaft, or get a whole new column? Or have mine repaired?
