I vote for the smoothies.
Then I would ad a IH vinyl or 3D vinyl emblem on each one.
Something like these:

Where's the option for neither? I wouldn't use the IH ones because I'd hate to scratch/scuff them and depreciate their collect-ability/value, not to mention what John said, I don't like tractors with Hub Caps.

As far as the others, there only usefulness would be target practice.

No, don't shift the "creepy gear" without the clutch.
Dad has them on his 125 (the smooth ones) and the IH ones on his 782. Since they've been on since before I was born, they look stupid removed.

That being said, I didn't have hubcaps on my 147 when I bought it, and that's ok, I like the look of it without.

I'd like the caps during the winter to keep snow from piling up inside the wheel. BUT they don't look the same once they are dented and are very prone to surface rust pitting here in the good ole sometimes muggy state of MI. If I ever found a set I'd probably sell them.

Where did you get those smooth chrome hub caps? I've looked everywhere for them. IMO I would put on the smooth ones. Looks closer to the IH ones.

ConnorI saw them listed on CL and the man was willing to ship them. He said that he had them in a garage sale, but he would pull them off the table and package them for me. I got lucky he was willing to save me over an hour of travel time, not to mention the ridiculous amount for fuel.

Looks like I will be putting the smooth chromies on, judging by the vote! I will post pics of the change in the near future! Thanks fellas for voting and commenting . I was indifferent, so I am certainly glad that I got other's opinions on it!!

I'll take the "dub caps" if you don't want 'em... Too funny to refuse! And YES I'll actually mow with them on it. Neighbors will laugh like crazy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
