I wish to keep the QL for snow removing only but this option is something I never think about it, I will loose money anyway if I purchase something new so buying a cheap box store unit every 2 years and loose $500 in the process, total cost $250 per year + maybe a belt , Not bad :-)

In the mid time I just found in a auction a 2009 Kubota T1880 with a serviceable tranny, they change the 18hp crappy Kohler Courage single cylinder 2 times under warranty and now they swap a 21hp B&S but give no clue if it a single or V-Twin. For me Kubota T series are overpriced with crappy deck but they are so easy to resale so we will see, I can even make a buck out of this, as long this one was not a belt eater!

If you can find a good one, you just can't beat the IH 782 for toughness and dependability. I paid $800 for one 10 years ago and it is still going strong, (and I work it hard). I have had all different colors of tractors over the years, and I will take my 782 over any new model that you can buy.

That frees up $5500 to restore old cubs and a couple of years to spend it!! If I had the room for *3* tractors I would have already done this myself. I'm not too proud to ride a $1k Craftsman when it's 100F in August and my cubs are ill.

Update
I win the 2009 Kubota T1880 at the auction, he need a HST belt , 2 new wheels on the deck, 2 front tires and a new seat! The hydro gear G730 tranny work flawlessly but I still need to test it with the new belt. All I can say about this Kubota is I never bought one new! They don't worth the amount of money they ask for! A Cub Cadet GTX1054 offer more for less money but since I got it for 25% of his brand new value I can't complaint!

PS: I got no more space inside the garage Maxwelhse but with the money left I can pay someone to rebuild my Cub engine and enjoy a cold one :-) Thanks for the lower seal tips

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
