Nice local find on the rarest of the smokers! If it doesn't get along with your 1782s, I know of a place it could live happily ever-after!!

Thanks! The supers sure are addictive, might have to let go some IH cubs for some room.

That was 2 years ago. but I'm patientNIK,
My brother had seen this one a few times over the years, but I never figured out who owned it. I went by the other day and saw it on the side of road and locked the brakes up, lol.

Thanks! Yeah the adhesive they used appears to have turned hard and brittle with heat, I peeled most of it of with the pressure washer yesterday.

Yup, the paperwork even shows that he got it from our dealer before they moved and it was sold, if fact the old owner of the dealer even lives on my road with the old signs leaning on his shed, wonder if he remembers selling it?

Thanks! I'm a little embarrassed to admit I didn't know the 1772 was only made one year! Ive been looking for one since before I got the 1782s, as I kinda like the metal hood, side panels, etc..

Well a small update, it had a bad oil leak when I got dripping on the deck, couldent tell from where with the deck on, so I got a little more off the already great price because it looks like I'll have to pull the steering and rebuild it....
After removing the deck and looking it over all it was is a loose fitting on the lift cylinder. So that was a relief, gave it a bath and all the wiring looks great with the oil off it! Hydro is smooth and the case isnt broken anywhere! Oh, did I mention it has front hydraulic outlets?

I pulled the tunnel cover and inspected the driveline, not terrible, but not good either. IMHO I have nothing against the rag joints in the older cubs, but things are kinda tight with the power steering, etc. on this tractor. I'm contemplating what is the best way to go, CV, or the 2000 style, think I'll talk it over with Sam, but since I'm gonna plow and such the CV is stronger. Also a set of rear end braces are going on it for sure. I'm not 100% sure yet, but since I don't plan to work my low hour 1782 I might pull the cat 0 off it and put it on the 1772.

Ben

Only way to go with the diesels is CV. You need the engine adapter, pump adapter and a shaft out of an 1864 and the fan. I have a complete setup here but it's spoken for pending payment. I can get the adapters for you. Last shaft I bought came from an OCC member. You know the drill call the sponsors.

I'd leave the three point on the 1782 and give Ruegg a call. Nice to have the hitches on all cubs so it's easier to move around attachments.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
