A dipstick with the correct cover will work.There are two types and the dipsticks themselves are not interchangeable.
These are the two types.

thanks thats what i needed to know. my wood splitter has a 341 on it with the wide block and you need to screw out a pipe plug type dipstick and its not in a easily accesable spot

Check to make sure that the oil level is the same with the new dipstick. You may have to make your own mark on it. The wide base blocks hold more oil. I don't know if the level was the same. I would think it would be being that they are splash lube, but I've never checked.
