Rob,
The 451 is for the 6" pto's and if your 782 or 1812 have the original engines then you need the 450 for the 4-1/2" pto's. It will physically hook up but won't be turning at the right speed. |

Or just change the PTO.

is there a pulley on the blower itself that can be changed to make it the correct speed?

I'm pretty sure you have to change the gearbox Rob.

If I'm thinkin correctly my 1812 with the 4.5" pto clutch will turn the blower a little bit faster , than say a 1863 with the 6" diameter pto clutch... Right?

Yep it would be running at about 130% of normal speed. Just my 2 cents but I'd look for a 6" PTO.

No sir you have it backwards. It would be running 70% of normal speed. A smaller drive pulley means less belt is travelled in one revolution hence slowing it down. If a smaller pulley was installed on the driven end it would speed it up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
