Hello Everyone,
Been reading this forum for a few months now. Seems like a great atmosphere to learn everything you need to know about cub cadet. I guess i went against the grain and purchased a 2013 GTX2000 w/54 inch fab deck and 46inch blade about a month ago. I heat with wood, so i have hauled appox. 2 cords of wood via a 4x8 trailer with it. I also use it to clear snow. So far it has performed very well. Awaiting to see how the 20hp Kohler will deal with the 54inch deck. I am looking forward to sharing my trials and triumphs with the cub community. |

Welcome aboard to OCC!!!! Nice cub. My main mower is a 2010 zero turn CC. I've got the "oldies" to play around with. Also have 3 acres to mow and not much time.

Welcome to forum. I have a GT2000 with a 48" fabricated deck, and I love it. Grass cutting is better with it than on my 54" stamped deck I had on my 1863. Fabricated deck is very heavy, and it helps to keep center of gravity low when cutting on hills--still tension-filled at times though. Only thing I wish this tractor had is hand controlled forward and reverse, like the older tractors had like the 1863, as opposed to foot control.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
