I think you need this set-up... Use your carburetor, the ebay tank and pick up tubes.

But I agree about checking the oil OFTEN.

The motor is in good shape, doesn't use oil, and that eBay tank looks like the same one I have hard to tell exact volume though.

Funny story my friend has a 5hp Briggs generator that leaks oil, one day we could not figure out why the engine would stop suddenly, find out he never checked the oil it was dry, guessing thr engine seized when it got hot, motor still doesn't burn oil after that lol.

Maybe attach the fuel line to the pickup tube and use an external fuel pump? And I don't see a problem letting it run for extended times, just don't want to fill the tank every single hour while using it in the fish house.

You can't do that..... it doesn't have a float.....

It should run longer than an hour on that tank too.

Wow, I would think that it should run a lot longer than an hour, if yours has the large tank like the one on ebay (1/2 gallon I think).

When I was a kid, we had a 5 hp tiller with that same size tank, and it seems to me that it would fun FOREVER before it ran out of gas.

John,
May I suggest that you enjoy it as it is, because there seems to be no easy/ inexpensive way increase the fuel capacity.
1500 watts is a small output.
There are collectors of Mccolluch items that might be interested in your power plant, and possibly give you enough to trade for a larger unit if that is what you want.
Those power plants were not quiet by any means compared to todays Hondas if you are thinking of a small camping type of thing.
---just some options here.

Heres an idea, take the original tank drill a hole in the top side and solder in a fuel hose barb. Then mount a larger tank to the frame higher than carb. Run a fuel hose from the extra tank to the fuel hose barb soldered in the original tank. Put a adustable shut off valve between the larger tank and the original so that you have some way to regulate the fuel flow, as without regulating the fuel flow you might have to much head pressure, causing some flooding problems. Remove the original tank and then remove the carb. make sure all the fuel is out of the tank and let it air dry for a day before drilling/soldering. Safety 1st.

Thanks for the input guys the unit is quiet enough for me with the muffler it has, perfect output at 1500w, don't want any bigger, and it was cheap!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
