Default A Decent Find!

Here's a 109 I brought home this morning. I got it from its original owner which always makes for a more acurate history. It was only used to mow a small lawn and pull a yard trailer ocassionally. He never used the 3pt. It was sheltered its entire life and serviced regularly as well. It was parked in a shed 3 years ago and hasn't been run since.

Don't you wish all owners were that good to their machines. When I got my 1450, it had been abused, yet my 149 wasn't. Nice machine!

I'm a firm believer that you take care of your small equipment like you do big ones. Just because it didn't cost $100,000 to buy doesn't mean you can abuse it.

I've been lucky all my cubs but one have been stored undercover there entire life. None of them have been abused but some have done there fair share of work over the years. My 125 has an hour meter and it reads 1695 hours and it was used as a primary tractor for a large yard and gardening. In the late 80s it was replaced with a johndeere 318 but was used occasionaly till the owner died in 08 and I got it in 09.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
