A contractor named Charles Walters had just finished a rather large job of remodeling the church, so he went to the church office to present the final bill to the minister. Upon its presentation the minister responded, "Thank you for the quality job Mr. Walters, the sanctuary never looked so nice. However, as you figure your total for this project please keep in mind that I am but a poor minister." Whereupon, Mr. Walters responded, "I know you are. I heard your sermon last week."
A hunter was walking through the woods when he heard a rustling behind him. As he turned, he was surprised to see a very large bear had caught him by surprise and he dropped his rifle and immediately began scaling a tree in front of him. He made it quite a ways up the tree and realized he was desperately at the end of his line, so he began to pray for God's help. He prayed, "Oh Lord, I know that you created everything upon the land. Right now I am in grave danger and I pray that the bear beneath me is a God fearin', Christian bear!" Just then, the hunter overheard another voice coming from the base of the tree--It was the bear, kneeling down and in prayer, saying "Thank you Lord for this wonderful meal you have given to me to sustain me." Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
