Default New CC

I think this forum is great. Is there a forum for us with MTD products? I know I at least got suckered into a LT that is much, much smaller than what I really need. It wasn't close to what I was asking for, but the manager at a smaller chain store got it sold. I am irritated that I didn't do my homework. I had no idea MTD had CC. If I did I would have ran off screaming. I got a used Troy-Bult chipper shredder, and found out about MTDs history of dumping quality as soon as they take over a company. MTD has bought companies in the past. Then they leave them alone for a couple of years as if to fool the public into thinking the companies quality will remain. Then they take over management and quality is thrown out with the dirty bath water. My Troy-Bult is pre- MTD, and after some minor repairs $60.00 in fabricated pulleys I love this thing. Yeah it looks shabby, But it runs and runs and runs. Love the forum, like all of the threads, and I'm jealous of all of you IH CC owners.

Thumbs up Welcome To Only Cub Cadets!

A great, well educated, helpful, and informative group of enthusiast for IH, CCC/MTD Cub Cadet specific garden and lawn tractors are found here. After IH sold IH Cub Cadet to Modern Tool And Die back in 1981, CCC/MTD continued to produce some of the very best Cub Cadet garden tractors,.... and many owners will argue that up until 1997, or so.

Perhaps, you have an Cub Cadet in your future. OCC can help you with that too! Good luck!

Welcome, RJ. Put on the coffee, pull up a chair and stay awhile. This is THE PLACE for all things Cub Cadet, from the 1961 or so vintage IH made Original Model through the current MTD made machines.

There is a wealth of knowledge here you simply cannot find anywhere else.

Again, welcome, and I take my coffee black with a hot buttered cinnamon roll next to it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
