Must have been pretty lucky to find that many 800's! I've only come across my one. 169's are a different story though

You bought and started this before I was a member on here. Had to look through the thread and see what it was all about. Looks like you had a good tractor to start with! Glad you are progressing, and don't worry about how long it takes. I too have projects that I haven't touched in ....... I don't want to say, so lets just go with, A LONG TIME! LOL

IA,
You did real good getting this 800. Sounds like they are pretty special in any condition and you now have this one running and moving. Don't sweat the small stuff. If all these Cubs were real nice and we didn't use them, nothing would get done. If you want to find the parts and return it to original condition I am sure you will be able to do it. I though it was interesting about your engine build from the 86. Speaking of a pile! You should look at the thread on the 147R that I did. That tractor should have never been restored, But it was, with lots of help from folks on here, and it is now too nice to get dirty. At least in my opinion. Its not high show quality just cleaned up good. We have had fun at some shows with it though, and met tons of nice folks interested in Cubs or tractors in general. Regards, Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
