Default 104 question
I am having an issue with my cub 104. It seems like the inlet needle in the carb, is sticking every time I want to start it. I am blaming it on ethanol. I am using Stabil green,. but the tractor never wants to start after setting a week, unless I free up the needle.

Take the needle out & soak it in a parts cleaner. Make sure those Itsy bitsy holes are clear. See if that helps??????? If not, rebuild the carb?

I'm sure someone with more knowledge will advise you better?

This is why I use StarTron gas enzyme for ethanol. Swear by it!

I am fortunate in that there is a local supplier where I can buy "ethanol free" gasoline.

As mentioned prior, clean & polish the needle jet and while you are at it, the whole carb.

After researching several sites for ethanol free gas I do not believe it is available anywhere in PA. I use Startron, MMO and Stabil in all my gas for small engines. Just go to any small engine shop and ask the owner how many engines they have to work on that the owner used untreated ethanol gas. A good thorough cleaning of the carb should fix your problem.

I'm with you on the Startron and the Marvel Mystery Oil, but not the Stabil--I no longer use it in any of my gasoline engines, since the Startron does a much better job and lasts a lot longer.
