Default Busy busy day...

Was it ever...rebuilt the carbs on both the 125 and 104...seems like twice the new kits came with the wrong size jets and I didn't realize it until after I reinstalled and started working the tractors... Both stated blowing heavy black smoke and gas was pouring out the throats... Had to pull them both back off and put the old jets back in.. Once that was worked out, I mounted the plow blade on the 125...found out quick there is a fine reason for the holes in the front of the mount...that blade will fall out if they are not in there

Tell us more about the wrong parts you got? How did you discover they were wrong, can you notice the difference by looking at them or are they that small of a tollerance the naked eye can't see it? When you say its spitting out the throat - where exactly? You might be onto something for an issue I have with my 100 with a K241 spitting gas out the bottom hole of the carb on the breather side when I choke it???

Holes on the front of the mount? Not sure what you are talking about here...

At first glance the jets look like they are correct.. The new ones are square where the old ones are triangular.. the square ones don't seem to block the hole when the bowl is full of gas allowing the gas to just run out unabated behind the breather cover.. this was a lot of gas...it's all square with the original jet. The kits are some aftermarket universals I had a buddy get for me.. I'm not sure who makes them though..

On the subframe where it turns up on the frame just ahead of the Frankenstein bolts...

I am not understanding this jet issue. Are you taking about the fuel shut off valves. Any ones I have ever changed come with a viton tip and they are matched to the seat that threads into the base of the carb. Changing them in a pair you should have no issue unless the float needs to be reset with the new parts installed. With the carb held upside down the float should be parallel with the base. If it's not that might be the fuel not shutting off issue.

Ah, I understand now. I've got the pins running into the quick release then bolted it to the frame in the holes above for an added security measure. (on my snow blade.)

The floats were/are correct.. perhaps I am calling the shutoffs jets the new ones were loose in the journals and would wobble back and forth allowing the rubber needle to stand open in turn allowing fuel to just run through the carb. The fix was to put the old ones in and no more gas issue..

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
