Default 126

I have a 126 completely disassembled that I'm thinking about selling. The only things wrong is it needs a steering wheel, the PO cut a notch out of the rear sheet metal for a tiller & PO said the governor in the engine was bad, other than that it's in pretty good shape. I disassembled it with plans of restoring it. Not really sure I want to sell it just curious what it might be worth.

Honestly, A basketcase with a non-running motor. $100 bucks if someone is feeling generous. thats what i would give for a parts machine

Which is why some of these machines get parted out, they bring more $$$ that way. Let me know what you decide to do, that would make a great parts machine for my 147.

I can't believe anyone from here is seriously considering parting out a third rarest IH built Cub Cadet that is in "pretty good shape".

+1 - you might want to reconsider. The 126 is a nice tractor!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
