heres the headlight conversion i just finished on my 1250 that was without...made some stainless brackets, new wiring, switch and fuse..headlights are steel housed, and since i already made a new grill from perforated stainless, and new emblem, i really didnt want to cut holes. i was leary at first, but they seem to shine just the same, and look kinda cool behind it...

Very creative with the headlights. Looks like the project turned out well and work very nicely.
I am curious, did you have to remove the muffler box to make these lights work in the space you have? |

thankyou fellas. i didnt have the complete "box" when i purchased the tractor..but i believe that they would fit from the pics ive seen of the entire shroud assembly..the lights are just cheapos from my local farm and barn store..i got them because theyre fully steel housed..didnt want the plastic ones, i figured theyd maybe melt..the outside diameter is about 6" and still leaves room..i also lit up the new gauges i got (voltmeter/tach) and am hoping to find some for the rear and run a flasher relay to them..i havent put the shroud over the head back on yet, and am debating if to at all, because i just had it off for a new gasket, after decking it .20" and cleaning all the carbon out of it, and checking valves and clearances so i know what im into for spring/rebuild....long story..ate a screw from the throttle plate, etc, etc....previous owner....blah blah blah...but thanks guys i truly enjoy working on this machine...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
