traded for a 70 a few days ago. it never been touched buy kids hands , all original paint still on it. seat repaint a few years ago with cub paint. original front and back tires. metal gas line. correct air cleaner. no dents , paint looks 40+ years old but no rust. it been seting for the past 10+ years needing a head gasket. i got it to start , runs good other then needing the head gasket. im on my cell and cant post pics. i'll try later from home to get some posted.

I just purchased my "new" Cub Cadet model 70, it is barn find with the creeper option. I will be the third owner of it. I do have the starter/generator for it, if you have noticed that is missing.

I would like to add fenders and dual wheels. Should I leave it "original" or repaint it?

Great grab! I want to do the same thing with a 100 this summer in regards to the wheels. The paint part is really up to you. Some folks around here just love the old and used look. Just really makes them shout out the history of the tractor. Others love the challenge of restoring them to their original beauty. Either way we all agree that we love these things HAHAHA

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
