Default 1782

Hi everyone!! I may have a chance to buy a 1782 for around 1K. Are there any bad things I should know about? I am thinking that this tractor is basically the same as my 1882, which is a bear I may add!!
Basically is the 1782 a good tractor and are there anythings that I should look out for before buying it? thanks,

Mike

Go man, really.

Well this is what it is. If it comes with goodies and it's in good shape then the $1K is a fair price.

This was mine some time back, just sold it last month. These are good tractors, you'll enjoy.

Love mine. In good shape that's a steal around here.

They are sorta light duty though. ha ha ha ha

Check where the rear axle bolts to the frame. If bolts are missing or the frame wobbles on the rear axle you have possible problems. That's the only biggie I'd really worry about.

Thanks guys. I will get an up close look at it in a couple of weeks. I guess its the same as my 1882 except it has the front hydraulic outlets and a steel hood. It does not have the rear PTO or a 3 point, but that is no big deal to me. I think that it would be a good complement to my 1882.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
