Default Gotta do some real work to the 1450 now

I was reading a post about hydro fans and it got me to thinking.... I've had the tunnel cover off of my 1450 a dozen times of so since I've had it for a month and I didn't recall seeing a fan! Well sure enought one wasn't there. And upon closer inspection underneath I saw that the rag joint for the drive shaft has almost rubbed through the hydro filter. The tractor has new ISO mounts and grabbing the drive shaft, I can't feel any play in it. What could be the cause of the rubbing? I don't think I'll be using it much until I get a fan on it, I for sure don't want to burn the hydro.

Can you upload a picture?

On my 125, I vaguely remember seeing the driveshaft vibrate around quite a bit on the transmission side when it's running. It's been parked since I got it, haven't had enough time to monkey with it yet.

With your 1450 running, does the driveshaft wobble around? or is it straight as can be? Just wondering if by chance the driveshaft is bent.

I haven't goofed around with hydros that much, so I can't say anything from experience.

All my tractors drive shafts run strait as an arrow from what I can see.

May be kind of blurry. But yes the drive shaft does wobble a little in the middle of it.

I need to weld up the trunnion anyway, I guess I'll fix it all at that time. I would like to know what all I need to order before I tear it apart.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
