Nice find Harry.

ROPER is a manufacturer for SEARS equipment for many years. That may be for a Sears Suburban tractor.

Looked like the like?

Sorry, my German is not so good!

Ok, that mower deck is definitely for a Sears/Roper tractor with the 4 attach pins and scissor lift.

Those old Sears are good mowers (even though they are belt drive), I've had several over the years. The blue on them was a really cool turquoise metallic. I used to have one of the planters and I sold it because I got a Brinly but the Sears one worked really well.

If your handy you could probably make that sickle bar work on the cub.

Yes, my first GT was the Suburban 12 orange and white I restored a couple of years ago. While they don't have the same feel as a Cub (think Chevy vs Cadillac), I find my Sears GT to be highly maneuverable and actually better than the Cub at some things. The belt drive doesn't keep it from pulling like a team of mules.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
