Mix a 50/50 solution of acetone and ATF ( yes, automatic transmission fluid) and use that as a penetrant.

In a test of penetrants, that came in first and KROIL was second. Plus it's a lot cheaper than KROIL and works great

I've heard this several times now throughout the years and have always been curious to try it. Does way better than blaster I've heard and that's all I've ever used. You should try it and let us know.

The 50/50 mixture is a favorite with the kawasaki triple folks. ( three cylinder two stroke street motorcycles from the late 60s early 70s )

The aluminum cylinders have steel case studs and the dis-similar metals can really corrode. It's my "go to" with subborn cylinders
