Engine rebuild
I picked up a 1967 Cub Cadet 122. It is solid and has a 52in deck And it has the pulleys for the roto tiller attachment on the rear end, any way it has a 12hp k-301AS motor and it is knocking bad. I have never rebuilt a motor so I would love some tips!!!!!!

Look up the parts FIRST. That way you know what your getting ready to spend and you don't end up with a motor in pieces that you can't afford to put back together. Also, take into consideration that money. If you have never done this before, are you willing to "bet" that money you will do it right? Like dvogtvp said, done right it will last YEARS! Find a machine shop that can bore the block (if necessary) and turn the crank (if necessary). Along with measure the parts, and give advice.

I know of a shop in Waterbury if that helps. Guy used to do small engines now mostly race car stuff but he may be able to help.
