Cool

roger that Allen! Those 128's look so much better than the JD garden tractors. And to top it off, looks like the right time this morning to be out having seat time. Nice picture as well.

Default 126 Before Pictures

I look at all of these pictures and think about what a strange set of people we are to take these tractors and breathe life back into them. I have a 125 in storage right now that was a basket case when I got it, so a full restoration was out of the question. Today it is a fine running tractor with many modifications but still mostly cub cadet.

Then while showing the pics of my 125 to someone they said that they had what looked like a cub on their property and I was free to take it. I have included the picture of that tractor here. It was an absolute mess. Again I chose not to restore, but rather to rebuild and make it a running tractor again.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
