Default Is the 1050 a Quietline model?

I got to thinking this morning, when I give my 1050 throttle, the hood starts to rattle against the dash. I was planning on putting some simple vibration damper around the edge but that got me to thinking; is the 1050 a Quietline model that has the ISO engine mount issue? I'm just wondering because I've just practically replaced the entire clutch assembly and I'd hate to have to do it again in a year or so just because I didn't fix an engine mount problem. I will say, however, when I had the engine off, before I put it back on, I replaced the rubber grommets? that went above and below the engine mounts because they looked kinda sickly.

So, is the 1050 a Quietline model I need to worry about fixing the motor mounts for?

NO. It does have a similar engine isolation mount though.

Yes and no, it's not a QL but it has pretty much the same engine mounting as a QL. If the mounts are tired I would replace them.

I did replace a couple missing isolation mounts when I did the clutch work and the rest looked good. Kinda makes me wonder if I should look into getting a Quietline mount system that's got the welded bar across it. Are there supposed to be isolation mounts where the motor bolts to the motor mounts? I know there are between the frame and mounts, but what about between the mounts and the motor?

Never had one to see up close but looking at the parts pic on the Cub site they look different to me. You would probably need to fab up something on your own.

on the 1050 they used 3 styles of engine mounts one had a bracket that had a hole in the side of the frame and it slid into the other was a solid L bracket and the last style was the cradle style and all took their own style of rubber mounts so take a pic and I might be able to help you

Are you thinking of the 1989 1050? AFAIK it only had one style of mounts since it was only made for one year but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. I'm at work right now, though, and I don't have an actual picture of the mounts on my machine, but this is the diagram I reconstructed my mounting system from.

The only thing I'm kinda missing is #3, I tried ordering replacements but they aren't available anymore. So what I did was put a #7 in its place. Not a perfect match but better than not putting anything there.

Do those mounts look about right? I'm thinking about nicknaming her the rattler because of the side panels Haha the drive line isn't shaking so I don't know where to go from here

They weren't bad to work on, really. Just getting the rubber spaces and washers etc in there in the right order was a bit of a PITA. Love the tractor, just gotta get her to quiet down a bit

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
