Default 106 won't start....sort of.

I'm sure the answer is here on the forum somewhere....

I stopped mowing the other day and gassed up the 106...and it wouldn't start. Battery is good and the tractor will start and run if I jump from the + terminal to the A on the starter/generator. I guess my question is how to figure out which switch is the bad switch (Ignition key switch, Magnetic or Neutral safety switch).

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks

Hope this helps. It is the sequential order of the Start Circuit and wire color correct...

The 106 is up and running...new blades and belts also. The issue was with some old cracked wires so I'm thinking a new wiring harness this winter.

Sounds like your 106 is a bit of a Rowdy Rebel also. Glad you got it going again.

Sorry I haven't le[t up here....took on a window replacement project on the old house (20+) and having the Cub back to form was expected !! This thing would be "trail rated" by Jeep I'm sure as I have not been stuck in the wood yet. They just don't make them like this anymore !!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
