1450 cranks, but won't start.
I used this tractor every weekend to mow. Went out today & it cranked, but wouldn't start. I changed the coil, wire & condenser. The Chevy points look good. I also changed the voltage regulator. All parts came off my other 1450, (yes, it ran before I took the parts off). I only have 2-4 volts of current @ the neg terminal of the coil. when cranking the engine on the 1450 that won't start. The battery has 12 volts. The 1450 that runs has 10-12 volts on the neg terminal of the coil. I'm completely at a loss here. I have unhooked the wire from the coil to the points and ran a jumper from the battery to the points, still won't start.

Run a Ground Wire from the Battery Negative Terminal to a good clean spot on the Engine block.

Some will say I'm full of it and some will say, been there-done that. I was figuring on removing the tiller from 1450#2 and putting the 44" deck from 1450#1 on it. I told the Lord I sure needed the tractor to run. He said "file the points". I did and bam, it fired right up and ran fine.

God does like cub cadets otherwise he would not have made eggs yellow and white. Glad you got the msg to get your tractor going. So many times it is something simple but with electrical systems you have to find it first.
