Default Hydraulic lift lever 1450

Hi guys- got the 1450 running today. Onto the next two problems- first is the hydro lift lever. It does not move forward or back. Any ideas? Second, it almost sounds like the driveshaft is loose. Only makes noises in motion. Thanks for the help guys

I bought a 1650 that had the same problem with the lever and the small piston that the chain is hooked to had some rust around it and wouldn't move.

A few days of PB Blaster and GENTLY moving the handle back/forth freed it up. I think i did get tired of the GENTLY stuff and got kinda rough with it and it broke loose. Just try not to break something !!

Not sure what you mean about the driveshaft ?????

Thanks for that darrell. I've only been in the cub cadet club since sunday, so I'm new. I'm gonna start tearing it apart more tomorrow. I will look into this. As for the driveshaft, I will drive it once more to get a better way to describe it. Thanks!

For the driveshaft take the 4 tunnel cover bolts off and have a look. My rag joints were shot, especially up front where there was only one. When I replaced them I red rilles the sproil pin hole and added a second rag up front. About a $50 repair. My rag up front was an oval.

Check and see if the rear end is loose in the frame. That could be causing the driveshaft noise.

So I got the lever free, and the hydraulics work! Now, I have to figure out what size belt I need for the deck, and how to turn the pto on.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
