Just my 2 cents. As others have said, pick up an extra set of rims and put loaded AG's on them and keep the turfs with chains for that evil white stuff.
That said I ran this setup on my BX for winter in CT for the drivway from H--L

I use loaded 23x8.50 ags on my Simplicity/Allis Chalmers to snowblow with. No chains. Rear counter weight to move the snowblowers weight onto the rear tires so I can steer. While I do have a set of chains I , I haven't needed them.

Your Gravely push plow is a killer set up, Cad! Too darn bad for the IH's. But still, the Cubs will push a bit.

![]() After MANY midwest seasons with studs on my 2wd 4 cylinder S10s, I'm a huge believer in that concept! If I can't make chains that fit AGs, I'll drill them (carefully) and have studs installed. Tire Barn charges $12 a tire to stud... P.S. Studded ATV radial tires is also a very exciting idea! |

There are those who will swear by running ag tires while pushing snow. Personally I can't see it (haven't tried it, but can't see it happening). If it's slick and there is nothing to bite into ice or packed snow then I don't believe you are going very far.
To answer the original question... Two sets of wheels, one pair with loaded turfs and 2 link chains, and the other with ag's, loaded or not, depending on what your intentions are.

I have a set of ATV tires that have tractor type lugs on my 582special for yard work including mowing grass, dont tear up the lawn and does not leave the flat tire track turfs leave behind.
My 3235 turfs with chains lay out beside the shed, been in the same place for 5 years, I run the same style ATV tires on it for snow duty, plow and blower duty, never needed to add chains. JMTCW. |

Here is a bigger pic of my radial. I think the reason it "works" better, is that being relatively narrow (about eight inches) the tire puts down a real long footprint.
![]() The weight of the tractor can only "push" down so much tire. The radial sidewall allows the long footprint to occur. ![]() That is something a bias tire can not do. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
