I'm kinda liking that winch idea... Hmmmmm does it seem to be able to take constant hard use? 60 bucks is a good deal if it will hold up.

LOOKING GOOD!

ps...I love the seat bracket!!

No idea how it will hold up. This is not the finished product by any means. Just a mock up at this point. Think I want the winch mounted a bit higher and forward. Plan on running 2 part line on it to slow it down and double the lift power.

I knew you would like the ultra high tech seat support, LOL. It is cushy.

Got the winch mounted today. I decided that using the bagger plate to mount it on was going to cause too many problems so instead I fabed up a mount out of 3/8” plate, drilled and tapped it for the bolts, welded a couple ears on it that allow it to be attached to the tractor at the same point as the lift would attach. Also cut a link of chain into a U drilled two holes pressed the U into them and welded it on the back side for a hookup point under the winch so that I can run a block for 2 part line. I think this is going to work out very nicely. Gotta order a lower hitch bracket. I like the looks of the one that Xtreme has that bolts to both the rear cover and the axle. Jeff in PA is building me one of his hitches so we should be all good shortly.

I do not know how many "lays" of cable are on your winch (no, not wench!! ), but, if there are only 2 lays, the cable will feed out and in at a slower speed, as compared to four. Slower speed will give finer control of the lift.

The less cable, the more "gear reduction".

It might be worth removing some cable to get the finer control, especially for a plow.

Cad

I know that. At the moment it's the way it came out of the box. I may replace the cable with a much shorter one so that I would be working on the first layer. I've wroked with cranes enough to know how they work. But thanks for the comment.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
