Default 127 exhaust pipe angle
When I tore down my k301 I removed the cast exhaust elbow. To my dismay the threads on the block and the pipe are so corroded that I'm going to need to machine the face of the exhaust on the block and put 5/16" studs for a flange attachment. The problem is I don't know what the downward angle of the original elbow was. Any chance someone with a 127 could measure the approximate diwnward angle from horizontal for me?

Wouldn't it be easier to run a 1" pipe tap into the hole to clean up the threads and then get a used elbow?

There's maybe 1/8" of good thread right next to the exhaust flange then the rest are just so corroded away that you can't even feel them.

Make your flange out of 1/2 " stock and thread the flange to 1" pipe thread, taking care to go shallow so your new street elbow or nipple/elbow if you choose, will be adlustable, if it threads in too deep, just grind off the protruding excess.
You will 'prolly have to use allen bolts so you have enough clearance, or dimple the pipe
