Default better blades and mulching

I bought a 2012 LTX1045KW lawn tractor in late September. Not impressed with mowing and mulching is worse. Are there better blades to use on these tractors than OEM. My old Craftsman actually cut better and mulched really good and almost half the price. Help needed. LR

I’d try a set of Meg-mo blades on it if it was my mower. www.Meg-mo.com I had a set on a 1641 and they worked great.

So do I. The blades on my Haban are toast.

I use gator blades on my 149 and they do a great job. I've never seen the meg mo before though. They look like they would work great but a little pricey.

I've used both, the Meg-mo's do a better job. Pricy at first but if you need to replace just the blades after they are pretty reasonable.

Guys

Since this has turned into a discussion about mower blades I'm going to move this to the implement section

So I contact gator blades with model of my tractor LTX1042KW and they said they don't make blades for mine. Whats up with that? I even took a picture of the blade and dimensions and sent that info. LR.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
