Default Hydraulic Plow/Blade Cylinder Question
I've got a blade for my 1450 Cub Cadet that has the hydraulic powered angle adjustment. My hydraulic cylinder for that blade is leaking at the front seal. I see that the cylinder is welded shut. Any chance these hydraulic cylinders can be rebuilt or and I stuck trying to find a replacement? Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can if you have the right tools. I'd see if a local hydraulic place would take a look at it, to see if shafts bent or scoring. It mayl be junk.

Thanks for the reply. The local hydraulic place said those types of sealed cylinders are not rebuildable. What special tools do you need to rebuild one of these cylinders? I just want to make sure I can get a replacement front seal. Again thanks.

You'd probably be off to a good start with a lathe and a welder.

I've got a lathe and welders. Cut the cylinder at the weld or make a new cut? Anybody know what type of front seal is used on those cylinders? Again, thanks.
